Join us in a real-life study exploring how you feel in different everyday situations. Our goal? To uncover what places make migrants feel at home in German cities. Urban life, with its busy energy and opportunities, can sometimes be a challenge for well-being due to the fast pace and constant stimuli. But it also offers access to different cultures, resources and connections that can contribute to personal development and enrichment.

App-Study
Technology allows us to measure people’s experience in daily situations. To take part in our study, you simply have to download our app. The app will ask you some questions – 5 times a day over the course of a week – this will enable us to record your moment-to-moment experiences in the city!

By participating in our study, you will help us better understand what makes people feel at home and how to create better cities for all!

What does participation involve?
5 x per day | 7 days
Once you have downloaded the app you will receive a start questionnaire and then 5 short questionnaires a day, over the course of one week.
What do I get?
Receive a 25 € reward upon completing 80% of the study and staying engaged until the end of the week.
You will also gain access to your personal results – find out how much your well-being, sense of belonging, stress and other factors vary over the course of a week!

Preparation
Before proceeding, we suggest reviewing the instructions thoroughly to familiarize yourself with the setup process.
Downloading the App
Open your App Store. Search for “m-path” and look for the app with the logo displayed on the right. Ensure you download the normal version (NOT: m-path Sense). The app is available for free.
Nickname Selection
Choose a nickname that will help your researcher identify you. To safeguard your privacy, avoid using your full name.
Acceptance of Terms
After selecting a nickname, you’ll be prompted to accept the terms of use.
Recovery Code
Upon acceptance, you’ll receive a “recovery code.” Please make a note of it or take a photo for your records.
Notification Settings
Allow the app to send you notifications. These serve as reminders to complete questionnaires and enhance your engagement with the study.
Language Selection
Tap the settings button in the top left corner of the start display to choose your preferred language.
Adding a Practitioner (= the researcher)
After selecting your language, adding our project lead Gesa Duden (@jdw36) as “Practitioner” for further steps. Simply search for her using the surname (Duden) or code (@jdw36).
