BELONGING IN URBANITY – THE MIGRANT CITY
Find out more about our research project here
We want to find out which places are particularly good for our mental well-being.
We’re especially interested in places where people feel comfortable and a sense of belonging. We’d also like to know whether newcomers and immigrants, or those who have lived in the city for a long time, perceive different places as particularly important for their well-being and sense of belonging.

This project is contributing to our understanding
of a healthy city design for everyone.
Urban life, with its busy energy and opportunities, can sometimes be a challenge for well-being due to the fast pace and constant stimuli. But it also offers access to different cultures, resources and connections that can contribute to personal development and enrichment.
With your participation you can make a valuable contribution to help us better understand what makes
urban spaces worth living in.

Homemaking
When we arrive in a new place, sometimes it is difficult to feel at home and it might take a while to feel like we belong.

Physical Spaces
We are interested in how physical spaces can help us develop a sense of home and belonging.

Networking
Of course, having connections with other people makes a huge difference! Let us know if you feel like you belong to the people around you.

App-Study
Technology allows us to measure people’s experience in daily situations. To take part in our study, you simply have to download our app. The app will ask you some questions – 5 times a day over the course of a week – this will enable us to record your moment-to-moment experiences in the city!

Knowledge
The participants in our study helped us better understand what makes people feel at home and how to create better cities for all!
